INFORMATION

Weather* and clothes

As spring kicks in, the cooler climate changes to warm temperatures and lots of Mediterranean sunshine. The Athens weather in March means you can explore this amazing Greek city in comfortable conditions. Found in the beautiful south-east of Greece, by the Aegean Sea and Saronic Gulf, Athens is one of the warmest and sunniest cities in Europe. In spring, there’s not too much coastal breeze and temperatures in Athens are often a few degrees higher than surrounding rural towns.
The weather in Athens in March produces very mild days for much of the month. The average daytime high temperature’s 17°C and should only drop to about 10°C at night. The sea temperature is about 15°C . You may see some light showers in Athens during March, as rainfall’s around 41mm across eight wet-weather days. There’s a lot of daylight in this spring month in Athens, with the sun rising at around 7.30 am and not setting until nearly 5.30pm. The sunshine boasts an average of six hours each day, which is great for taking in famous attractions like the Acropolis.
It is highly recommended that the attendants of the Symposium – teachers and students – bring along proper clothing and umbrellas.
